|
Breeding conditions:
|
| Dunlin and Grey Plovers had high nesting density; turnstones, temmink's stints and little stints - average. Arctic foxes are permanently present, but have low density. Herring, glaucous gulls and arctic skua were abundant non-breeders, but some pairs of all the three species nested. Single records of snowy owls, ruff-legged buzzards and other skua species were made. Predators mainly destroyed nests of geese, extremely abundant in the area, while waders lost few clutches (10-20%). Nest success of waders was higher than average.
